Course overview for Clinical Rotation-Molecular Diagnostics -MLT 471

The principles of the clinical training in the lab is to make the trainee familiar with the daily work flow, the whole cycle starting from sample receiving and ending with result release. The Molecular Diagnostics Lab in particular will introduce the student to manual and automated nucleic acid extraction (DNA or RNA), end point and real time PCR and DNA sequencing.  The trainee will be acquainted with nucleic acid testing (NAT) of blood donors, detection of infectious diseases and some hereditary diseases.
